Black History Month

Respect People's Wishes.png

Being an advocate or a leader for black history month is not really my thing.  However, I thought I would honour it by sharing some of my thoughts.  I believe we are equal we are already whole. I do not disregard that racism does not exist. But my focus right now isn’t on if it does or if it doesn’t. My focus is on building a relationship with God and developing the qualities of God. Some of those qualities are peace, love and calmness.

I have attached Martin Luther King’s Video I have a dream, because he was a great leader, minister and advocate for all people. I am very grateful that I have witness his dream come true.

We are free, we are one. I guess the process for us all is that we have a lot of undoing and doing in order to see and to live in that truth.

Here is a poem I wrote called I am a Black Woman Who knows How a Woman Feels.

I am a Black Woman Who knows How a Woman Feels

From the moment she rises until the moment she placed her head on her pillow

I am a black woman who knows how a woman feels

Should it matter

The colour or the race we are all human beings living under one

Human Race

Is it because we have been informed the black woman could bear pain

Or she gets the most pain and challenges

Is it the way the system has been built for a black woman to signal out her pain

A black woman will always be seen as a black woman

A woman who is crying inside

Because she may look outside herself for

Love, peace and happiness and any other kind

A woman who is crying inside because she isn't comfortable in her skin

Not only because of the colour of her skin, but because of what she has been through

Seeking for ways in why she hides her insecurities, trauma and vulnerabilities

A woman's pain has been in her lineage for many years

The truth is a woman is an empress known for her exquisiteness

Her underlying courage is to get back up time and time again

I am woman like all woman regardless of what race we come from

We all deserve to wear a crown and be crowned special

Including men and all genders too

We have fought time and time again

But no more pain

I am in a womans body

Re-educating myself

And taking it all back in

So please don't disturb my flow

And

Power to grow
