My Thoughts in October
I recently started reading the book again With Love Man is God by a psychiatrist called Samuel Sandweiss … The book was inspired and dedicated to his Guru Sathya Sai Baba... This book was gifted to me in my early counselling years…
I have had the pleasure of meeting some of Sai Baba devotees and being mentored by one… Before Sai Baba died I remember hearing his voice saying it goes beyond the Divine… I used to have powerful experiences when I read his words or listened to him... One in particular was seeing frogs in my garden when I would listen to him sing the Gayatri Mantra…
Sathya Sai Baba
I thought I would share with you all what interested me in the book With Love Man is God from Sai Baba which was “My life is the message”… When I first read these words I felt him saying my life is the message… Then I saw Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda, and seen how they lived their lives and how their lives is the message too… And how all of our lives is the message…
I have always wanted to be a Psychiatrist, so in re-reading this book again I am noticing things that I have never seen before that has been very helpful… I have been reacting to things quite alot these days internally… I am not usually a person who reacts to things, I am quite a quiet and humble person…
Here is an excerpt from the book on controlling the tongue… Which I found fascinating… By controlling the tongue one can virtually acquire control over the world itself…. The power of speech can be either used for a noble and sublime purpose or misused in a mean and mischievous manner. Too much talk brings on premature senility. It also heightens the appetite, which in turn causes more talk…
The author of the book says that Modern psychiatry knows that disturbed thinking is a characteristic of many mental disorders and that healing can come from learning proper thinking… Further in the book, he says that spirituality is a great wellspring of postive thinking. What can be more postive than the thought, “God is always with me, protecting me, providing, guiding, guarding, and loving me?” What can be more positive than advatitic or non dualistic thinking? How uplifting to think,
“I have unlimited potential to rise above all obstacles including depression and anxiety. My true nature is all-knowing power and pure divine love. I am birthless, deathless, eternal peace, and bliss.”
Correct thinking according to Swami, is done by a mind immersed in God. A mind immersed in the world of duality is bound to suffer. “A dual mind is half blind,” he says. Thus, part of the therapy is imparting the understanding that all is well, God is now here. Swami says that our age is one of doubting, in which the negative thought that “God is nowhere” prevails. If we put a space after the “w” and make the word “now” the the correct positive thinking is that “God is now here”.
I love the way he came up with his analogy God is nowhere to God is Now Here... I always used to play with words in this way... It's such an important reminder ... I remember in my early counselling days we used to say EGO means Eat God Out... And when I was in AA God meant a Group of Drunks... It's fascinating how we can play with words to create a new meaning so that we can see things from another world view...
Sai Baba says
Soft sweet speech is the genuine expression of love. Hatred screeches, fear squeals,
conceit trumpets, But love sings lullabies. It soothes; it applies balm.

What's New for October
Empowering Women Through Devotion
"Awakening the Heart Through Chanting"
For the past two years, I have been chanting as a devotional way to connect
with God and to awaken my heart to love again...
Through an intuitive call and my heart's inspiration, I felt inspired to empower women to do the same…
During the Group we will have Prayers, Sharing Circle, Meditation, Affirmations and Healing Prayer...
The three chants that we will focus on to empower us and awaken our hearts are
Let my Heart Reflect Thy Light Lord
Door of my Heart by Paramhansa Yogananda
Sri Ram Jai Ram
Join me as we awaken the heart's natural love through the vibrations of these powerful healing chants to empower ourselves, to know that we are worthy, to feel love again, to build our confidence, to feel strong within ourselves, to know that we are able to achieve anything we want in life,
to reignite that inner flame that unites us all to the one truth that resides within each one of us.

Ananda Spiritual Counselling
I am still advertising for counselling for a donation if you know anyone in need of online counselling.
Testimonies:
Dinah allowed me to feel completely comfortable from the very start and I was able to
feel confident to open up to her completely.
Dinah allowed me to feel empowered to always speak my truth during the sessions.
She acknowledged my experiences in a warmth manner which encouraged me to speak further.
I did not feel ashamed to cry and show true emotions because I knew no judgment
would be made on Dinah’s part.
I felt very safe speaking with Dinah in the comfort of my own home and looked forward to it.
I was able to grow and realise my self-worth. With the help of Dinah, I was able to feel empowered and took control of the situation which allowed me to spin my situation in a positive manner
and gain control of my life once more.
Dinah was amazing in the sessions and took initiative to incorporate meditation which helped relax me and regain my thoughts to express what I truly felt. She made me feel welcome, safe, and empowered through her understanding and warm demeanour.
I hope many people can reach out and have the positive experience to counselling that I have. I believe counselling has kept me alive and sane through the most difficult time in my life.

“I felt I could trust you and that we shared our guru's presence. You took everything at an ideal speed of prayer and brief meditation to link our spirits. You let me be heard, and then let me know I'm loved by many people.
You followed up with inspirational ideas to move forward with, which at some stage I will revisit. It was a blessing to have your help when I needed it, with a like-minded soul. You are a bright light for our Master’s.”
